Wrestling Training and ProgramsIn wrestling the overall goal is to control your opponent. Our sessions are geared to assist the athlete in this goal. Sessions are designed to enhance the athlete's endurance for competition. Various drills are conducted to improve quickness aiding the athlete in moving effectively on their feet and on the mat. Overall grip and strength is developed to keep a better hold on the opponent as well as to explode through tactical movements.

Through progressive training, balance and core strength is achieved, which aid the athlete in maneuvering effectively through various body positions, while maintaining a low center of gravity.

Program Designer

Jamell Tidwell
in his third season on the Augsburg coaching staff in 2007-08, was a four-time national tournament qualifier and All-American three times at 141 pounds, placing third in 2003 with a single-season school record 50 victories, and second nationally in 2004 and 2005. In his career, he finished with a 155-17 career record, the wins ranking second all-time in school history. He was named an Augsburg Athlete of the Year in 2005.
